ZTE goes West for new business

Tools

Chinese vendor ZTE is shedding slightly more light on recently mentioned new efforts to pursue more business in Europe and North America. The company told Light Reading Europe that it has restructured its international operations into a new group called Division IV that's based in Paris and focused on Western Europe and the U.S.

The move comes not long after reports that ZTE's native rival, Huawei Technologies, may be hiring in North America, specifically in the Dallas area. Huawei also has been rumored to have been a candidate to acquire some portion of troubled Nortel Networks, though the buzz around a potential deal has waned.
