Voip Services News

VoIP Service Providers enable subscribers to make and receive calls over the internet, using VoIP, or Voice over internet protocol, technology. VoIP services began to be introduced to the public in 2004. Subscribers were able to make and receive calls in a similar manner to how they would on a public switched telephone network (PSTN); however, the VoIP service would instead utilize broadband internet access and a computer, adaptor, or specialized phone. Many VoIP providers allow unlimited domestic calling and sometimes international calls, all for a flat fee. VoIP services can be further broken down into computer-based services, residential services, mobile services, no-monthly bill services, and business services. Prominent U.S. VoIP service providers include Vonage, Lingo, Voip.com, Broadvoice, Packet8, and ViaTalk.
