CenturyLink, NTT included in Gartner's Magic Quadrant for Cloud-Enabled Managed Hosting, Asia/Pacific

Through its acquisition of Savvis in 2011, CenturyLink (NYSE: CTL) has established itself as a major provider to U.S.-based enterprises and multinational corporations (MNCs).

Although it recently renamed the Savvis subsidiary CenturyLink Technology Solutions, the service provider has been expanding its Asia Pacific presence by building out and operating cloud data centers in Singapore, India, Japan and Hong Kong over the past three years.

One of the key attributes that Savvis brings to the table is experience in the region and a strong data footprint to serve area MNCs.

Although CenturyLink won't report fourth-quarter 2013 earnings until Feb. 12, during the third quarter its data hosting segment, which includes the Savvis operations, reported operating revenues of $342 million, up 4.6 percent year-over-year. Colocation revenues rose 1.4 percent year-over-year to $146 million, while managed hosting revenues rose 15 percent year-over-year to $129 million.

NTT Communications , like Savvis, comes to the table with wide geographic coverage throughout Asia, with presence in all four regional hubs and in secondary markets. It will enhance its regional reach this year by expanding its coverage to China and India.

Another key element of NTT's cloud infrastructure is the ability to provide MNCs access to key hubs in the United States and the United Kingdom.
