RCN challenges cable, telco competitors with new upload speeds

RCN, one of the surviving cable overbuilders, is boosting the upload speed of its two most popular broadband speed tiers for no additional fee, reports FierceCable. The service provider increased the upload speeds of its 25 and 50 Mbps tiers to 4 and 10 Mbps, respectively. What's more, it increased the upload speed of its 75 Mbps tier to 15 Mbps. While the faster upload speeds may not be the best weapon to win over more customers, the move might satisfy subscribers who upload large amounts of data to cloud-based storage services such as Dropbox.
