Sidera Networks bolsters colocation footprint with Cross Connect Solutions acquisition

Sidera Networks may have been only together as a creation of ABRY Partners when it bought out the former RCN Corp. since September, but to grow its data center colocation business it has acquired Philadelphia-based Cross Connect Solutions.

By acquiring Cross Connect Solutions, Sidera will not only add additional 28,000 square feet of colocation space to its 100,000 colocation footprint, but expand its customer base in Philadelphia's Central Business District.

Seeing a greater demand for carrier neutral colocation, Mike Sicoli, CEO of Sidera Networks said the Cross Connect Solutions acquisition "allows Sidera to build upon its robust colocation offering, adding one more facility to our 26 existing facilities,"

Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
