TDS' HMS offerings achieve Cisco's cloud, managed service certification

TDS (NYSE: TDS) Hosted and Managed Services (TDS HMS) on Tuesday announced it has achieved the Cisco (Nasdaq: CSCO) Cloud and Managed Services Master Certification.

By gaining this certification, TDS HMS is now recognized by a major vendor as having the capabilities to sell and deliver cloud and managed services to businesses to help them accelerate time to market and time to revenue.

In addition, Cisco and TDS said the certification rewards partners for their expertise and investments for creating, selling and delivering cloud and managed services, such as ReliaCloud.

Now that it's a Cisco Cloud and Managed Services Master Certified Partner, TDS Hosted and Managed Services will sell and deliver at least two Cisco Powered services (managed and/or cloud services with Cisco Powered services designations), built on the IT Infrastructure Library (or ITIL) framework, and provide enhanced management and stewardship practices to its customers.

While TDS HMS is not the only service provider to gain such certification with Cisco, it will provide new and existing customers with some peace of mind that its services are compatible with a major cloud systems vendor.

"As a long time Cisco partner and reseller, we are proud to have our latest cloud investments validated by Cisco, as we work to connect more customers with our new ReliaCloud offering," said Phil LaForge, executive vice president and COO at TDS HMS, in a release.

Cloud and managed services overall continue to be major revenue drivers for TDS. Although TDS HMS is still a relatively new part of the telco's offerings, managed services continue to be a hot seller for the telco.

In Q3 2012, ManagedIP services, which are offered via the company's ILEC and CLEC operations, grew 89 percent to 84,500 from 44,800.
