Mellanox introduces switch with 100-Gig Ethernet connectivity

Mellanox Technologies has launched Spectrum, a new switch that provides a wide range of connectivity, including 10, 25, 40, 50 and 100 Gigabit Ethernet speeds. The switch is based on Open Ethernet standards and Mellanox says it is highly flexible and scalable.

One point of differentiation for Spectrum is that Mellanox provides the application programming interface, so that customers can use their own software solutions to optimize performance. The device features integrated 32 100GbE ports, 32 40/56GbE ports, 64 10GbE ports, 64 25GbE ports and 64 50GbE ports. According to  Mellanox, Spectrum is the world's first non-blocking 100GbE switch across all packet sizes. Release
