Radio Frequency Systems (RFS) has introduced new tower mounted amplifiers (TMAs) that have variable gain in a variety of spectrum bands, including 700 MHz, PCS and all AWS frequencies. The company said that the TMAs can increase uplink performance.
RFS said that operators that deploy tower-mounted amplifiers will be able to increase the radius from the tower, which will improve performance of VoLTE, resulting in fewer dropped calls and fewer failed connections. The company also said that a TMA can increase data rates without reducing capacity.
RFS also said that the TMAs are small and lightweight, which decreases tower loading and makes installation easier. Release
