Viavi debuts RF forward-path analysis probe

Network communications equipment producer Viavi Solutions announced a new probe for RF forward-path analysis.

The VSA RF-100 probe offers analysis solutions for a variety of media, including video, MPEG and DOCSIS.

According to a company press release, the device uses its RF and MPEG capabilities to troubleshoot customer-facing issues on an individual program level. Viavi said that will allow installers to diagnose and rectify potential service disruptions before they become noticeable.

"The probe provides remote monitoring, analysis, and troubleshooting to the field, headend, and network operations center (NOC) without the delay and expense of deploying a specialist to the physical hub location," the release added. Release
