Ekinops boosts French provider's residential and enterprise broadband services

Optical transport vendor Ekinops wrapped up a network upgrade for CM'IN, which is a regional telecom service provider in France. CM'IN's digital infrastructure supports the city of Chartres, France, which is located 90 miles southwest of Paris.

Ekinops increased the bandwidth on CM'IN's single fiber network, which connects to two major data centers in Paris, from legacy 10G to 100G. The Ekinops 100G single fiber deployment was completed in four weeks with minimal impact on CM'IN's installed base and customer operations. With the upgrade, CM'IN has future proofed its existing fiber plant for several years ahead of rising bandwidth consumption.

In order to boost CM'IN's speeds for its residential and commercial broadband speeds, Ekinops installed its Flexrate PM_200FRS02-SF optical transport solution in tandem with its PM_100G-AGG aggregation module.

“Both the technology and the service received from EKINOPS have been remarkable,” said Alain Guillotin, general manager for CM’IN, in a statement. “The specialist team understood our requirements and proposed an elegant solution that was easy and fast to implement. Ekinops has greatly helped us in our mission to ensure the metropolitan territory of Chartres remains a highly connected and innovative district for digital services. We saw an immediate benefit in winning a new major project."
