Chris Costello, AVP of Product Management for AT&T (NYSE: T) Managed Hosting & Application Management Services, is heading up one of a piece of the service provider's business that's responding to the enterprise's growing desire for virtual services.
Among Costello's many achievements during her tenure at AT&T is the creation of AT&T's Managed Services Portal on Business Direct and establishing a web presence for AT&T's toll-free service line.
In her current role, Costello oversees the global product development for Managed Hosting & Utility Computing, concepts that are gaining continued interest from AT&T's large enterprise customers.
As enterprises look to cut costs on their storage capabilities, Costello sees increasing momentum around from her government, health care and financial customer is cloud-based network and security services.
"One of the trends we're seeing is that customers are investing in cloud services so they can only incur expenses when they are testing their disaster recovery plan (DR) or invoking their disaster recovery plan," Costello said in a recent interview with FierceTelecom. "IT systems can be very expensive and a very expensive insurance policy if they are sitting idle most of the year."
Her knowledge of the managed services and network security market has also been featured in various articles that have run in well known IT publications, including Network World and Computerworld.
Along with her author credits, Costello is also well known speaker. She recently was a University of Texas at San Antonio MBA Program - Honorarium Speaker, AT&T Labs Innovation.
