FCC: CLEC share shrinks to 17.1%

The Federal Communications Commission said that the share of end-user switched access lines served by CLECs declined throughout 2006 (yes, 2006) to 17.1 percent from 17.9 percent at the end of 2005. I'm not sure if the timing of this report means we won't see 2007 figures for another 12 months, but with CLEC forbearance advancing and consolidation effecting the CLEC market, we could see an ongoing downward trend.
