Scandal rocks CLEC U.S. Signal

Three former executives of U.S. Signal, a CLEC based in Grand Rapids, Mich., are being investigated over allegations that they accepted kickbacks from a network solutions vendor. The vendor supposedly submitted artificially inflated bids that were accepted by U.S. Signal, but the excess cash from those bids allegedly was then paid to the three executives in question.

If these allegations prove true, the scandal sadly shows that multibillion dollar public corporations are not the only firms victimized by unscrupulous executives, and that such scandals are not a thing of the past, which many of us had begun to hope was the case.
