8x8 program enables VARs, resellers to build a cloud service strategy

8x8 (Nasdaq: EGHT) has made its latest mark in the cloud services market by unveiling its new 8x8 Business Partner Program, an initiative targeting agents, resellers and traditional hardware VARs a new way to respond to their client's cloud service desires.

Participating partners will be able to work with 8x8 as a single source provider to get four cloud-based offerings: Cloud VoIP, Cloud Video, Cloud Contact Center and Cloud Hosting.

One of the selling points the service provider is making with the new offering is how VARs, which have traditionally sold hardware-based products, can add another new source of revenue by reselling 8x8's Software as a Service (SaaS) products.

Targeted at the small to medium sized enterprise (SME) market, 8x8 said that VARs and systems integrators can add incremental revenue by selling SaaS services in three ways: one-time bounties on initial orders, monthly residual payments and commission on equipment accompanying the sale.

But the benefits of the program aren't solely relegated to the VAR and data reseller arena. Other independent agents can use the program to establish partnership with master agents/resellers like WTG, Walsh-Vision and Vodaplex and Referral Partners to reselling 8x8 services.
