Alcatel-Lucent acquires IPTV firm

Alcatel-Lucent has shown it can follow up bad news with good. About a week after revising its 2007 revenue outlook downward, the company announced it has acquired IPTV applications developer Tamblin, a London-based company specializing in interactive advertising capabilities. The deal should help Alcatel-Lucent craft greater personalization features for its customers' IPTV offerings.
