Allstream racks up 46 customer wins on expanded fiber network

Allstream, a unit of MTS Allstream (Toronto: MBT.TO), made a big bet this year to expand its 30,000 km national fiber network and that bet is paying off with 46 new contracts signed during the second quarter alone.

The new fiber network expansion was designed with the purpose of extending IP-based services to more businesses and multi-tenant unit buildings in key Canadian markets. Dean Prevost, President, Allstream, said the "success of this investment is based on a very focused approach that reflects the strengths of Allstream's IP product suite and will enhance our on-net customer presence."

Among the many new customers Allstream signed as customers for its expanded network during the quarter were Moblicity, XO Communications, Frontline Technologies, Design Group Staffing Inc. In total, Allstream has 54 new IP contracts, including multiple sales in its on-net buildings and 35 wins in its collocation footprint.
