Amdocs acquires JacobsRimell for $45 million

OSS and billing firm Amdocs, which has proven to be a leading consolidator in this segment over the last few years, has made another acquisition, buying service provisioning vendor JacobsRimmell for $45 million. The London-based company has specialized in OSS and service issues for cable TV firms and brings with it a key customer relationship with industry giant Comcast. Companies such as Amdocs, Oracle and Subex have done deals over the last few years that have steadily consolidated the OSS market and beefed up the multi-faceted product lines of the remaining vendors.
