AT&T to equip 1,100 Citizens Bank branches with digital signage, network services

AT&T has signed an agreement to provide its services to over 1,100 branches of Citizens Bank, one of the largest U.S.-based retail banks, giving the telco another key proof point in its cloud and security strategy.

With this initiative, Citizens hopes to enhance the customer experience through technology, including digital signage and network services.

Having provided services to retail bank chain for over two decades, AT&T and Citizens are hardly strangers to one another. These technologies, which cover everything from end points to cloud connectivity with security, cover Citizens Bank edge-to-edge, the provider said.

By working with Cineplex Digital Media to develop, install and operate a digital signage network for Citizens Bank, AT&T said it can create what it says is an immersive digital retail experience for the bank's customers.

Each branch will have screens with custom content, featuring topics like planning for retirement or managing student loans, as well as community-based activities. The screens will also provide local weather, news, sports, entertainment and stock indices.

Already, AT&T has completed the first phase of the digital signage migration, with 1,047 single and dual-screen locations now running the new Cineplex media players. Plans are already underway to roll-out the new technology to the remaining bank branches in 2018.

This new technology enables Citizens Bank branches to offer what AT&T says is a richer customer experience through next-generation features and new design concepts. AT&T is overseeing the project, analyzing the banks' network architecture needs, managing service support associated with the design, and producing required documentation.

Citizens Bank also uses AT&T security, application solutions, voice, data and mobility services.
