AT&T expands U-verse TV app support on smartphones, tablets

AT&T (NYSE: T) is giving its U-verse customers another way to engage with their video service outside of their home by adding support for Android smartphones and tablets, starting with a Poker Night TV app, reports FierceCable. Initially, AT&T supported apps for Apple's (Nasdaq: AAPL) iPad and iPhone that allow subscribers to set remote DVR recordings, view program listings and watch video programming. The telco has launched an open API (application programming interface) for the fast-growing Android platform. Read more
