AT&T Labs appoints telecom industry veteran Krish Prabhu as its new president

Krish Prabhu has done a 360-degree tour of duty in the telecom industry, one that's now landed him at AT&T Labs (NYSE: T). He will replace current CEO Keith Cambron, who is retiring from his post after five years heading up AT&T Labs.

Prahbu is not a stranger to AT&T. In 1980, he started his telecom career working at the former AT&T Bell Laboratories--four years before the breakup of the Bell System.

Since his formative days at AT&T Bell Labs, Prahbu went onto serve as the CEO of the former Alcatel USA, now Alcatel-Lucent (NYSE: ALU), and later Tellabs (Nasdaq: TLAB) in addition to helping to promote new startups as a venture capitalist.
