BEA stays in M&A hunt

BEA Systems rebuffed a $17-per-share acquisition bid from Oracle, arguing that the company is worth at least $21 per share. Oracle isn't buying that argument, or the company, at least for now. But, BEA investor Carl Icon has been and still is urging BEA management to find a buyer. The telecom software landscape has been a busy consolidation arena in the last few years, but after Oracle, the list of prospective buyers for BEA trails off fairly quickly.
