Broadband providers add nearly 1.2M subscribers in Q1, says LRG

Telcos and cable operators rode a large broadband wave in the first quarter of 2014. According to the Leichtman Research Group's (LRG) most recent report, 17 of the largest cable and telco service providers in the U.S. (about 93 percent of the market) added nearly 1.2 million net high-speed Internet subs in the first quarter and these providers now have more than 85.5 million subs. Interestingly, cable continues to dominate the list with 50.3 million subscribers.
