Cable broadband growth eclipses video, says LRG

Video might be cable's bread-and-butter service, but as seen in the second quarter of 2014, broadband has become the more dominant service. According to research from The Leichtman Group, Q2 2014 figures show that broadband now accounts for more subscribers than cable TV among the top cable providers. U.S. cable operators added about 380,000 broadband subscribers in the second quarter, and the industry's total (excluding overbuilder WOW) now stands at 49.915 million, compared with 49.910 million TV subs.
