Cable & Wireless Communications has put the final touches of its acquisition of a 51 percent stake in the Bahamas Telecommunications Company (BTC).
Bermuda's government has been paid the $210 million purchase price and $14.3 million in-kind and cash completion dividends from BTC.
Already operating in Bahamas under the LIME brand, CWC will apply a business and restructuring plan for BTC that it says will expand its services and increase its customer focus. In addition, CWC plans to conduct a voluntary workforce restructuring program next year.
