CenturyLink adds Cisco Spark to its Unified Communications service line

CenturyLink’s enterprise customers have yet another element for Unified Communications (UC) as the telco has secured Cisco Spark Service Provider (SP) designation.

With the Spark SP designation, CenturyLink can now support the complete portfolio of Cisco Spark solutions.

As a result, CenturyLink has broadened its hosted Unified Communications and Collaboration (UC&C) solutions to include this cloud-based collaboration suite, which allows teams and individuals to meet, message, call, conference, white board and share, regardless of location.

CenturyLink provides Cisco Spark Meet, Spark Message and Spark Call (hosted and on-premises) solutions.

Businesses can use this solution to minimize the complexity of working with multiple vendors and use a subscription-based purchasing model which offers predictable billing and the ability to scale services as needed.

The new UC Spark designation complements CenturyLink’s growing suite of Cisco-based solutions. In 2017, CenturyLink introduced two solutions based on Cisco technology: CenturyLink Managed Enterprise with Cisco Meraki and CenturyLink Business Wi-Fi.

Managed Enterprise with Cisco Meraki gives customers greater visibility into their SD-WAN and other wireline and wireless-related services, while CenturyLink Business Wi-Fi is a managed service that includes real-time monitoring and analytics to help businesses better connect with their customers.

What will also set CenturyLink’s UC solution apart from other providers is an enhanced global reach it gained from its acquisition of Level 3. The service provider now has a far deeper global network with greater network density to accommodate multinational corporation (MNCs) in key markets such as EMEA and Latin America.
