CES: Comcast moves toward portable DVR

Cable TV giant Comcast Corp announced at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas that it had teamed up with Panasonic to introduce an AnyPlay portable DVR device that can also function as a digital set-top box. Comcast plans to start leasing the device this year, but hasn't announced further details yet.

Along with Microsoft's DVR Anywhere functionality (see today's top story), technology stretching TV recording, storage and access capabilities may already be the hit of this year's CES.
