Charter serves up backup wireless service for SMBs

Charter Communications is keeping small to medium-sized businesses connected with its Wireless Internet Backup for Spectrum Business customers throughout its 41-state footprint.

In the event of a broadband or power outage, the system automatically kicks over to  a redundant LTE connection with unlimited usage and no overage fees. Its available as an add-on solution for all standard Spectrum Business Internet speeds at a cost of $20 per month.

“A reliable internet connection is vital for today’s businesses,” said Dave Rodrian, Charter’s group vice president of internet products. “Wireless Internet Backup enhances our existing Spectrum Business Internet product by providing complete connectivity. It gives our customers peace of mind, knowing that their business will be protected.”

Due to shelter-in-place policies, SMBs have been hit hard during the coronavirus pandemic as many of them were unable to re-open once customers were allowed to return.
