A group of pay-tv providers including Comcast (NASDAQ: CMCSA) and AT&T's (NYSE: T) DirecTV unit are expressing interest in the emerging virtual reality (VR) concept. Comcast recently joined Time Warner Inc. in generating a $30.5 million funding round for NextVR, a Laguna Beach, Calif., startup that broadcasts events in virtual reality, for example.
