Comcast outlook: Slower revenue growth

Who: Comcast Corp.

Vitals: Based in Philadelphia, the cable TV company serves about 40 million households, including about 13 million high-speed Internet customers. The company also added 662,000 digital voice customers in the third quarter alone.

Why you should care: The most recent news out of Comcast may confirm that competition is taking a bite out of the cable giant's market position. Comcast yesterday adjusted its 2007 outlook slightly downward, saying revenue for the year would grow 11% rather than the previous expectation of 12%, and that other metrics would tighten up in similar fashion.
