Continuous adds DPI to ATCA platform

Continuous Computing Corp. made several announcements today related to its FlexTCA advanced telecom computing architecture (ATCA) platform, including the integration of deep packet inpsection technology. Adding DPI at the blade level will help network equipment vendors supply gear with enhanced network intelligence to their carrier customers.

Continuous also announced Mavenir Systems as a customer for FlexTCA. In addition, the company said it is working with femtocell technology pioneer picoChip Designs to incorporate femtocell software into the FlexTCA platform. DPI and femtocell technology should greatly increase ATCA's appeal not long after the industry had begun to question whatever happened to ATCA.
