Covad names Telus exec CTO

Alternative business services carrier Covad Communications has hired long-time telecom industry veteran Aamir Hussain as its chief technology officer. Hussain, who has worked for Qwest Communication, AT&T and other telecom firms during a career of more than 20 years, arrives at Covad from Canadian carrier Telus, where he was vice president of National Planning, Engineering and Capital Management.
