Kevin Hart, EVP and CTO for Cox Communications, sees the potential for next-generation services such as 1-Gig Internet and cloud-based DVRs as weapons to more effectively battle offerings like AT&T's (NYSE: T) U-verse and CenturyLink's (NYSE: CTL) Prism services. Being nascent technologies, Hart says the move to cloud-based DVR and delivering 1 Gbps speeds via DOCSIS 3.1 will be done on an evolutionary basis.
