CuriosityStream's Hendricks sees potential in nonfiction/factual OTT services

John Hendricks, who is best known as the founder of the Discovery Channel and until last year the chairman of Discovery Communications, is ready to make his own mark in the burgeoning OTT video space with CuriosityStream--a pure-play OTT service--which provides subscription VOD content similar to that of Discovery, History and other linear channels in the nonfiction/factual television category. Sam Bookman, editor of FierceOnlineVideo, recently caught up with Hendricks to talk about his latest venture while taking a look back at the various innovations he developed that were set on disrupting the video delivery market.
