Market research firm Dell'Oro Group is reporting that worldwide spending on wireline network equipment by service providers grew more than 10 percent in 2007 to $36 billion. That should brighten the day for vendors, though many of them are already much more concerned with how 2008 will play out. Not all equipment segments pulled in revenue growth, according to Dell'Oro. Optical transport and routers showed the largest increases, while broadband access and multiservice switch segments declined.
