DirecTV (Nasdaq: DTV) has become the latest service provider that is reportedly interested in purchasing online video purveyor Hulu for $1 billion. Jim Barthold, Editor of FierceIPTV, believes that if the satellite provider does purchase Hulu it would become a Broadband Virtual Network Operator (BVNO) where it would deliver a wider array of online content over any broadband connection in a consumer's home.
