Ericsson's Jan Häglund will soon be wearing a new official hat as the company has promoted him to become the new head of its IP and broadband product unit, replacing Georges Antoun, who will retire on July 1.

An 18-year company veteran, Häglund will oversee Ericsson's IP and Broadband product area within its Networks Business Unit, which is based in San Jose, Calif.

Over the course of that 18 year period, Häglund served in a number of management positions in research and development, sales, product management and strategy.

Häglund is hardly a novice to the IP and broadband area, having recently served as Ericsson's Deputy Head of the IP and Broadband product area, for which he was responsible for Ericsson's product portfolio and business in IP, packet core, mobile backhaul, microwave and wireline access (DSL and PON).
