Former Cisco, Juniper alumn Michael Capuano becomes Infinera's VP of marketing

Infinera (Nasdaq: INFN) continues to bolster its management team by adding former Juniper and Cisco alum Michael Capuano to its management team as its new VP of corporate marketing.

A 20-year veteran of the telecom industry, Capuano is best known for his tenure at both Juniper (NYSE: JNPR), which he joined via the vendor's acquisition of the former Pacific Broadband and then later at Cisco (Nasdaq: CSCO).

Interestingly, Capuano's appointment comes not long after former Infinera VP of marketing Rick Dodd left to take up a similar role at Ciena.

Since the beginning of the year, Infinera has been making a number of management changes to bolster its position in the long-haul optical market. Besides naming Capuano as its new corporate marketing chief, the vendor recently appointed former Verizon CTO Mark Wegleitner to its board of directors.
