Frontier extends Yahoo! relationship across its broadband service territory

Frontier Communications (NYSE: FTR) is once again trying to sweeten its relationship with its DSL subscriber base by upping its partnership with web giant Yahoo!

Later this year, Frontier's customers will be able to access a new co-branded Frontier-Yahoo! e-mail system provided by Yahoo! Mail. In addition to traditional e-mail service, subscribers will be able to access Yahoo!'s digital content via co-branded sites that will be integrated with the email service.

Because the Yahoo! page is customizable, Frontier will be able to integrate upcoming new products and features for consumers to see.

Having offered similar services to Frontier's customers since 2008, the two companies are hardly strangers.

The timing of this partnership comes as Frontier continues to try to win over customers in the states where it purchased lines from Verizon (NYSE: VZ) last year.
