GENBAND has added another element to its growing services portfolio by reaching an agreement to purchase uReach Technologies, a deal that gives it a broad portfolio of voice, video and unified messaging solutions.
uReach has become a well-known supplier of value-added services to a host of Tier 1 wireline and wireless operators in North America.
The company said that uReach's solutions complement its offerings with a broad messaging portfolio that can be deployed by global service providers via distributed, Internet-scale cloud or in-network models. In addition, GENBAND said that uReach's messaging software can deliver business applications that can "enhance productivity and improve communications."
uReach's suite includes four main solutions: Advanced VoiceMail, VideoMail, VisionMail and VirtualReceptionist.
Key benefits include scale and time to market. uReach's Converged Intelligent Messaging platform can support millions of subscribers at a nationwide level.
Complementing its traditional hardware business with new software-based components has been an ongoing theme for GENBAND. Previously, the company purchased fring's OTT mobile IP communications service, a deal that has enabled it to expand its consumer cloud portfolio for the over the top (OTT) voice market.
Terms of the acquisition were not revealed.
