Gilder still dreams in all-optical color

What (and who): The all-optical network and A-O backer George Gilder

Why you should care: Technology gadfly George Gilder spoke at the OSA Executive Forum (part of OFC/NFOEC) in San Diego, and among other things, tried to reinvigorate the industry's dreamers, philosophers and researchers to pursue the all-optical network concept. As relayed by Light Reading, Gilder seems disappointed with the industry's acceptance of hybrid optical-electrical architectures, and is his same old ecstatic self when it comes to urging the industry to act quickly to deal with the imminent exaflood of bandwidth.
