Good Night, and Good Luck to Dan

Today, I am talking to you on a bit of a sad note as FierceTelecom says goodbye to fellow Irishman and journalist colleague Dan O'Shea who is leaving FierceMarkets this week.

You might have gotten to know Dan over the years as the editor of FierceTelecom and our sister wireline publication FierceIPTV. I often bumped into Dan at the now defunct SUPERCOMM show when he was Editor in Chief of Telephony, now Connected Planet. When I took over the reins of FierceTelecom last July, Dan's influence on the publication continued through his weekly columns. I will miss his insightful analysis on the telecommunications industry.

Taking Dan's place as editor of FierceIPTV will be my fellow sports fan from Michigan, Jim O'Neil, who you may know as the current editor of FierceOnlineVideo. Please feel free to reach out to Jim at [email protected] and look for him at the upcoming NAB show.

So in the famous words of Edward Murrow, Dan, I bid you Good Night, and Good Luck in your next adventure. --Sean

P.S. FierceTelecom and FierceMarkets overall will be taking a break tomorrow to observe the Good Friday holiday following the Stock Exchange holiday schedule. We'll be back on Monday bright and early bringing you our take on the events taking place in the wireline segment of the telecom industry.
