HPE is fully embracing the "as a service" model by pledging to deliver its entire portfolio as a service by 2022.
At its HPE Discover conference in Las Vegas, HPE also announced Tuesday that it had updated its HPE GreenLake platform with new solutions for the midmarket and the edge, and expanded its strategic partnership with Google Cloud.
HPE GreenLake, which is the company's data center, hybrid cloud and private cloud portfolio, will be offered as a service, as well as in license and capital expenditure models. The midmarket services will be delivered via partnerships with Google Cloud, CyrusOne and Equinix. For the midmarket, GreenLake will be pre-configured for compute, database, private cloud, storage and virtualization workloads, which will cut down on development cycles.
HPE also plans to launch GreenLake for Aruba for edge networking as a service for enterprise Wi-Fi, edge switching and security.

According to HPE, GreenLake has a 99% renewal rate, and Net Promoter Score of 86%, putting it in the top 1% for scores in IT service delivery across the market. HPE GreenLake is now the fastest-growing business in HPE, with more than $2.8 billion in total contract value, and more than 600 customers. The HPE GreenLake channel business has grown more than 275% year over year.

Building on the HPE Validated Designs that were announced in April, HPE and Google Cloud are collaborating to deliver a hybrid cloud platform for containers. The hybrid cloud solution combines Google Cloud’s Anthos with HPE’s on-premises infrastructure, HPE Cloud Data Services, and GreenLake.
