Intel sells optical laser unit for $85 million

Intel continues to shed telecom-related assets, announcing that it has sold its optical laser unit to Emcore for $85 million. The deal comes not long after Intel sold its assets related to the ATCA and CompactPCI standards. Intel also sold its optical networking chip group and its X-Scale communications business last year.
