Iowa Telecommunications Services reported a $7 million profit during the first quarter of 2008, down from the $10.5 million figure reported for the same quarter in 2007. The telcos also saw total access lines decline by 3,700 from the fourth quarter of 2007 to the first quarter of 2008. Total lines are down 14,400 since the first quarter of 2007, a drop rate of 5.7 percent.
