Lightpath lights 8K business locations with fiber as regulators vote on Altice-Cablevision tie up

Lightpath, the business services arm of Cablevision (NYSE: CVC), now reaches 8,000 business locations in its New York footprint, according to a FierceCable report. Likewise, the service provider's fiber network now surpasses 6,500 route miles of coverage. These milestones come as New York regulators signal they are coming close to approving Altice's $17.7 billion acquisition of Cablevision.

The New York Public Services Commission has put the Altice deal on its preliminary agenda for Wednesday. Already, the FCC and Justice Department have approved the arrangement, leaving the New York state officials as the final regulatory hurdle.
