Masergy updates its SD-WAN portal to include UCaas analytics

Masergy has updated its Intelligent Service Control (ISC) web portal to give its customers a unified view of their SD-WAN applications.

Web portals have become table stakes for SD-WAN vendors and telco SD-WAN services as their customers clamor for more control and visibility of their application performances.

Earlier this year, Windstream Enterprises announced a new web portal called WE Connect, which was designed to provide a better user experience across Windstream Enterprise's SD-WAN, Cloud Security, and OfficeSuite unified communications services and an applications with a "single pane of glass" view.

Masergy lays claim to having the only web portal that offers a single unified view for global network services, SD-WAN edge devices, unified communications-as-a-service (uCaaS) applications, and security solutions.

“All my research shows that customer portals and cloud management features are some of the key draws of SD-WAN technology. End users really want control of their own networks — making this Masergy offering right on target," said Scott Raynovich, the founder and chief analyst of Futuriom, in an email to FierceTelecom.

The ISC web portal also comes with new views for top applications, security threats, and UCaaS analytics that help IT leaders and network architects gain key insights, according to information provided to FierceTelecom via an email.

The upgrade also includes self-service features such as ticketing, alarming, SD-WAN configuration, device reports, change history, and escalations.

"Masergy’s customer portal is the only portal to offer real-time bandwidth controls with the ability to modify port bandwidth globally across both public and private connections," Masergy Chief Digital Officer Terry Traina said in the email to FierceTelecom. "The portal revamp was driven by Masergy’s customer feedback, which is an essential part of our product roadmap planning process.

"The ability to view SD-WAN and UCaaS analytics in the same portal and gain actionable security insights were the most requested features."

After conducting a beta trial of the new web portal in July with its customers, the new portal is live as of Thursday. Masergy also conducted additional customer testing with a smaller user group across various roles.

While Masergy's customers settle in with the new web portal, the previous version will be available in "classic" mode over the next 90 days.
