MegaPath has unveiled new pricing and guarantee promotions for its service suite that it hopes will help businesses reduce costs and risks that come with deploying new voice, data and security services in their respective organization.
The new promotions include new incentives and price guarantees for three of its key services, including Hosted Voice, T1, and MPLS:
- Hosted VoIP: Taking a cue from its free Cisco phone offer to lure businesses to try VoIP service, MegaPath's Hosted Voice customers that purchase at least five seats will get a free Cisco SPA 303 IP phone and hardware, as well as free activation and installation.
- T1 Service: Any new customer that purchases either a T1 or a Bonded T1 circuit with a three-year contract are eligible to get one free month of service, free managed firewall and free anti-virus protection.
- MPLS: Customers that sign up for MPLS or MPLS-based VPN service will get one free month of service with no startup costs.
All of these services are also eligible for an umbrella Competitive Price Match Guarantee. Similar to Wal-Mart's ongoing sale promotions, MegaPath will match a competitor's price if a customer can show that a competitor offers the same service for a lower price.
Mega Path's new promotion is timely for a few reasons.
Not only has it been almost a year since the CLEC did a double-dip of acquisitions of both the former DSL service pioneer Covad and VoIP provider Speakeasy, but it's facing new growing competitive threats from Comcast and its new fiber-based Ethernet and VoIP drive for larger business customers. This new promotion should give new and existing business customers a quantifiable measurement as they consider competitive options for their telecom services.
