Michael Ashby returns to Calix's CFO chair

Calix (NYSE: CALX) did not have to look to far when it needed a candidate to fill its CFO post. Instead it turned to its board and asked Michael Ashby to rejoin the company as its new EVP and CFO.

Ashby, who served as Calix's CFO from 2003-2008 and has served as a member of its Board of Directors, replaces Kelyn Brannon, who is leaving the vendor for personal reasons.

During Brannon's three-year tenure, she not only helped Calix go public and made their first acquisition of Occam Networks as a public company.

In addition to Calix, Ashby served as CFO for a host of other telecom startups, including the former Cerent Corp. and Ascend Communications, which were acquired by Cisco and the former Lucent Technologies.
