More job cuts ahead for France Telecom?

France Telecom may be set to embark on a three-year round of job cuts beginning next year that would eventually see between 12,000 and 15,000 positions eliminated from the telco. The company has made no formal announcement of such a plan, but initial reports are relying on an unnamed union source who is said to have knowledge of an internal memo mentioning the cuts. France Telecom is currently nearing the end of a program under which 16,000 jobs were to be trimmed between 2006 and the end of this year.
