Nacchio's new prison date: April 14

Former Qwest CEO Joe Nacchio likely will head to prison in Pennsylvania next week on April 14. Of course, we've heard something like this before, only to see Nacchio earn a last-minute stay.

But, yesterday, a U.S. District Court judge said that among other things, lawyers for Nacchio failed to prove that his request for bail and a delayed prison sentence while awaiting a U.S. Supreme Court review was anything more than an attempt to stay out of prison. The judge also said Nacchio's lawyers failed to show that he is likely to win a reversal of his conviction or be awarded a new trial by the high court. The judge has not yet ruled on a separate request from Nacchio to be given a new trial.
